I remember when I shot my first wedding in 2009. I remember feeling the nerves of not knowing what to expect, the uncertainty of not knowing the real flow of the day. Rachel and Ryan’s wedding brought me back to all those feelings once again. This was the first Jewish wedding I had the opportunity to photograph. When I sat across from Rachel and Ryan and listened to the descriptions and importance of the traditions of the wedding, I was very intrigued. I was also, frankly, a little nervous too. Rachel and Ryan were so gracious, both at that meeting and all through the day and put their trust in me. I was able to be a part of so many new experiences and traditions that I barely put my camera down. I also found myself repeating many words trying to say them correctly as well! Through it all though, whether it be a Jewish wedding, a Christian wedding or just a wedding, at the center of it a couple that just loves each other. So amidst the Bedeken, the Ketubah, the dancing and the praying, there always was just Rachel and Ryan.
Rachel and Ryan, thank you for trusting me with this day and working with me much more than you probably needed too. Thank you so much for letting me capture these memories!
