I remember sitting at a booth at Meg’s Daily Grind, across from me was Mer, Jay and cute little boy, Max. Who even though he was just a wee little guy, he was the most well mannered child you could ask for. As time went along, I photographed their engagement session with Max and then after talking with their friends and family on their wedding day, I found out why Max was so well mannered. Mer and Jay are about the easiest couple you could ever work with as a photographer and it shows in Max.  It is not too often you see both the Bride and Groom help setting up their own reception space! This made for a relaxed wedding day where I was able to capture them in a way that was organic and natural. The moments in between the “moments” on  a wedding are the one that you will always remember.

Mer and Jay choose to get married in the newest room at the Prairie Street Brewhouse, the Bottling Room. With its abundance of natural light and while retaining the feel of the building, it made for an amazing backdrop to their Ceremony. A short walk took us past the new Rockford Brewing Co, and then trying to keep the groomsmen from disappearing into the brewpub, right into the reception at the Barrel Room. Luxe Productions and Jamie Jordan got the room rocking in no time but I still managed to steal  the new couple away for a few moments and photograph them on the dock and enjoy what was the warmest night of the Spring so far.

Mer and Jay, thank you for choosing me to tell the story of your day! While you two are enjoying the Spring thaw with that little Max bouncing in your lap, I hope these photographs will be the ones you share with Max so he can know your story.
