I have met my clients many different ways, referral, finding me using google, facebook but Becky and Peter had to be different.
Starbucks.
Yep. I was early to a meeting to drop off a previous client’s DVD of photographs and as I was just sort of milling around waiting for them, I hear “Hey Tyson!”. I turn and see an old grade school classmate, Peter. I have not actually seen Peter in person in probably 10+ years, so we started to chat a little and get caught up. Of course when you are chatting about the typical things in life, the subject of your job is a requirement. I tell Peter my story about how I got my photography up and going and Peter replies, “Well, I just got Engaged.” and I reply with the witty “I know a good wedding photographer.”.
::insert awkward laugh from me to see if Peter might actually take me serious::
A little over a year later, I had the tremendous opportunity to shoot Becky and Peter’s wedding, an excellent time to reminisce with a handful of my grade school classmates and also received the incredible embarrassment to have a former teacher tell stories about me. If you heard any of them, I promise you I am 100% innocent and was completely framed in all circumstances.
::insert quick conversation change so you do ask questions about my grade school days::
Hey you! Look at Becky and Peter’s amazing photos I took!
