For those of you in the Rockford IL area who have been hiding under a rock the past couple of years, the Prairie Street Brewhouse quickly grown into a premier wedding venue while also breathing life into the downtown area with Thursday Night Dinner on the Docks. It all started with just 10 weddings in 2010 and now will surpass 155 total events in 2012. For those of you who have been to the Brewhouse for an event, you have only had the chance to see a small part of what the building truly could be. Just recently the Brewhouse secured $12 million in various credits, grants and rebates and with that money, construction has started on adding Restaurants, office space and condos to the existing structure. I have had the privilege of access to virtually the entire space and after seeing how the Ice Cellar and Main Event space has flourished, I am very excited to see what is coming for the space over the next few months.
If you are still a little skeptical at what this means for downtown Rockford, head to the Brewhouse this Thursday night between 5pm-10pm for dinner on dock. The weather is going to be to be amazing, so you can not use that as an excuse!
